Attorney General Advisory Opinion

The Attorney General issue an advisory opinion at the request of Del. Marcus Simon.

The main points of the advisory opinion are:

  • Intimidating a voter in Virginia is a criminal offense.
  • Virginia and federal law provide that voters shall not be harassed for exercising their rights.
  • Threatening or intimidating voters casting their ballots at polling places could violate state and Federal law.
